A polymer formed by the reaction of one or more compounds with elimination of reaction products of low molecular weight such as water, e.g.,

nH2N(CH2)6NH2 + nHOOC(CH2)4COOH —-> H[-HN(CH2)6NHCO(CH2)4CO -] nOH + (2n – 1) H2O.
